Jamie Count of Teba, also known as Jaime Pérez de Guzmán y Gómez de Sandoval, was a Spanish aristocrat who lived in the 16th century. He was born in Teba, a town located in the province of Malaga, and was the son of Pedro Fernández de Guzmán y Manrique, Count of Niebla, and Catalina Gómez de Sandoval y Rojas.
Jaime Count of Teba was a powerful and influential figure during the reign of King Philip II of Spain. He served as the Governor of the Alcazar of Toledo and was also appointed as the Viceroy of Sicily. He was known for his military prowess and his loyalty to the Spanish Crown.
Jaime Count of Teba was also a patron of the arts and was responsible for the commissioning of several important works of art, including the main altar of the Cathedral of Toledo. He was also a collector of books and manuscripts and was known for his interest in literature and history.
He died in 1572 in Sicily while he was serving as Viceroy, and was buried in the Church of San Francesco di Paola in Palermo. His legacy as a powerful and influential nobleman and patron of the arts lives on to this day.
